Sirius for Pumping is a versatile portable solution for wellsite data acquisition, from the range of NOV CTES monitoring and modeling systems used for demanding applications worldwide. Sirius products are based on a custom datacard circuit board working with a single board computer (SBC). With this architecture it is possible to get a sophisticated 16 channel data acquisition system into a briefcase-sized portable enclosure.

Hardware Configuration

Sirius for Pumping has inputs for:

• 8 analog 4-20mA current loops, ideal for pressure transmitters
• 4 switch inputs for NAMUR proximity switches, ideal for pump stroke counters
• 4 magnetic pick-up inputs, ideal for turbine flow meters

Input channels have isolation and are intrinsically safe to EEx ia, allowing the sensors to be positioned in Zone 0 hazardous areas if required.

Sirius for Pumping can be powered by 9-18V DC and 100-250V 50-60Hz AC.

Data Manipulation
Sirius for Pumping outputs pressures, rates and totals as digital displays and as a rolling strip chart, based on the familiar API log plot format. Incoming data can be viewed in real-time. Scroll buttons allow the entire open log file to be interrogated. Data is stored to a robust 2.5” hard disk in a condensed binary format. At the end of a job, data is downloaded through a fast RS232 serial link. Downloaded data may be analyzed and transmitted to a remote location with NOV CTES’ Orion software, sold separately.

Cutting Edge Technology
Sirius for Pumping is a compact, portable data acquisition system, housed in a robust Peli® case. Data is displayed real-time on a clear, bright 10.5” VGA screen. Channel set-up is simple and versatile. Once Sirius for Pumping has been configured offsite, a keyboard and mouse are not required for operation. During use, the case lid may be left open, to view the data and to start and stop logging as required. Alternatively, the case can be closed to better protect the video screen and keyswitches.
