Job Summary:

The demand for NOV CTES products soared during recent years. As a result of continued success in the marketplace, NOV CTES is now seeking an Electrical Design Engineer in our Conroe, Texas office.
The Electrical Design Engineer reports to our Engineering Manager and will be responsible for the design and support of advanced surface instrumentation and electrical systems. The Electrical Design Engineer:
- Works with the engineering team and customers to develop specifications for new electronic products and components.
- Designs electronic circuits and assemblies to meet the requirements for electronic products.
- Coordinates with software development team to implement new firmware into existing or new electronic products.
- Develops documentation of electronic circuits and products.
- Develops new product quality and test plans.
- Provides sustaining engineering and troubleshooting of existing electronic products.
Desirable Qualifications:
- B.S. Electrical Engineering degree and 5 years of experience.
- Design experience and working knowledge of;
- Solid state devices, including diodes, bipolar transistors, JFETs, MOSFETs.
- Linear integrated circuits such as amplifier frequency response, timing, summation amplifiers, active filters, and oscillators.
- DC and AC passive circuits and filters.
- TTL and PC board interfaces.
- Architecture and programming of microcomputers and their peripheral devices such as sensor, relays, indicators, and motors.
- Sensor types to include, but not limited to: encoders, current loop, voltage, strain gauges, frequency pulse, ultra sonic, optical, Hall Effect, fiber optic, and thermocouples.
- Communications protocols to include, but not limited to: RS232, RS485, HART, Ethernet, and CANbus
- “Quick study” of new concepts or technologies.
- Ability to work within a team environment.
- Self-starter with multi-tasking abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Organized and detail-oriented, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experienced user of Microsoft Office software suite, including Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
